One Down

Last summer when I was in Utah with my sister, we were quilt store shopping and I saw a line of fabric that I just fell in love with. I decided that I wanted to make the girls matching quilts to go on their bunk bed when Abby was done with her crib. So I bought some fabric and started. Then I started full time back to school and didn't have much time to work on them. Well I finally got one all the way done last week. The next one is all pieced together, but it still needs to be quilted. I'm hoping to finish it this summer now that Abby is on the bottom bunk. Here are some pictures of the final product.

What makes kids think that as soon as I lay down a quilt, they should hop on. This happens every time.
Especially when they have huge stains on their shirts and ridiculously crazy hair.

Swim Lessons

Olivia has been going to swim lessons for the past 4 weeks and has really enjoyed it. She does whatever her teacher tells her to. He is one of the young men in our ward and Olivia basically idolizes him. Here are some pictures and a video of her in the pool.

Photoshop

My sister-in-laws and I went in together and bought photoshop. I decided to mess around with it today and see what I could do. Here is one picture that I changed. Let me know what you think. Is it better or worse? If any of you use photoshop, let me know what you would have done differently.

Memories

This last week I took some of my Mom's old pictures and my friend Julie scanned them for me with her awesome scanner. It was really fun to be able to see old pictures of my family. It brought back lots of good memories. I thought as tribute to Aaron because he is gone I would post some of his baby pics that I found. Dennis used to tell me how cute he remembers Aaron being as a baby and how he wanted to take him everywhere with him. Now I can see why.

Good luck Aaron. Hope you are having fun!!!

Child Abuse

Abby has had a rough week. I think she has got a major bruise everyday this week. After this latest one one her face she had a little conversation with her sister. It went something like this...

Hey Olivia, do I have a mark on my face?

It doesn't hurt so much here

Or here

but right here

No, ship shape!!!

She is fine, but I hope no one calls CPS before the bruises heal.

It's Just Sad

Even though lots of people consider Buckeye to be the "country", we are not country folk. My kids have never ridden a horse or a cow or a tractor. So the other day when I told Olivia to ride the bunking bronco, she had no idea what I was talking about. This is why I love technology. I got on you tube and searched for rodeos and found some and showed her the bronco rides for about 10 minutes. Later that day, I saw her and Abby on this

My poor children. Their mom is such a geek that they have to resort to riding the roll of batting. It is just sad.

Abby thinks it is the best ride in the world. If only she knew!!! Maybe we can remedy the no horse riding when we go to Wyoming this summer. For now though, they will be riding the batting roll.

May I just add also that the thing on Olivias head is supposed to be a headband and she now refuses to wear it as such and insists that it is her "bandanda" and wears in on her forehead. I don't know how she ended up so strange when both Alex and I are so normal.
