Brothers

Here are some super cute pictures of my boys. Anytime I get the camera out to take pictures of Tait, Owen jumps right in and wants to hold him and get his picture taken with him. Owen is so gentle with him and will hold him and give him kisses and tickle his tummy. I can't wait to see these boys grow up together.

Halloween

We had a very low key Halloween this year because of the baby and Halloween being on a Sunday. Olivia told me she wanted to be Hermine from Harry Potter early this summer and I convinced Abby that she really wanted to be a butterfly fairy, because we already had the costume that Olivia wore 2 years ago. They got dressed up to go to our wards Fall Festival and then again for Olivia's schools Fall Festival. My poor kids didn't even get to go trick or treating this year because we were in Tucson visiting family on Saturday and I wouldn't let them go on Sunday.
She had the stance down perfectly!! If you can't tell, her wand is a tree branch from the front yard. She chose it herself very carefully!

I love this pose!

She was so excited to dress up, she had trouble standing still long enough for me to take a picture. This is the best one of almost 20 pics!

More Baby Pics

Here are some more pics of Baby Tait, I am trying to take lots of pictures so he can't complain that he doesn't have any baby pictures because he is number 4.

This was taken the day we got home and his face is still really swollen from the birth (he tried to come out upside-down).Sound asleep watching football with Daddy.

Wide awake and looking around.

Don't you just want to smell his little head! I love the newborn stage so much, I already am getting sad that he is growing up so fast. Some of that might be because he is an awesome sleeper!! He usually only wakes up once during the night, nurses and then falls right back asleep. So I am feeling great and getting lots of sleep. I just hope he doesn't grow up too fast!

Alexander Tait

The wait is finally over, Alexander Tait was born on Tuesday the 12th at 8:30pm. He was 8lbs 11oz and looks exactly like his brother Owen. I was scheduled for induction early that morning, but was postponed because they were so busy. We finally got called in at 1:00 in the afternoon and got to the hospital and got all checked in. They started me on pitosin and broke my water at 4:00 and after a wonderful epidural and about 20 min of pushing he was born. So far, he has been a really good baby. He eats good and sleeps good and is so cute. The girl absolutely adore him and Owen just kind-of ignores him. We are so excited for him to join our family!

California

Last weekend we were able to take a quick trip to California to visit Alex's Sister who is there for the summer. The kids has so much fun on the beach as these pictures show!!

They loved to play in the water, especially Owen who didn't want Alex to hang on to him at all, he wanted to do it by himself, but he kept falling over. It was so funny to watch him play in the water. They also loved to play in the sand!!

We packed a lunch and taught our kids why they are really called sandwiches!! Abby didn't like it so much and didn't eat any of her sandwich, but she did drink like 5 capri-suns.

We had such a great time and the weather was awesome! I forgot how sandy everything gets at the beach and our car now looks like the beach. We are still finding sand in the most interesting places on the kids!! We might have to make it a yearly trip.

New Pictures

I wanted to get some pictures taken of the kids for Alex for fathers day. My friend Shauna came through again and took some amazing pictures. We also had all of the cousins on my side in town so we tried to get some pics of all of them. We went at 7 in the morning and it was still so hot and muggy outside. Poor Abby looks like she is about to pass out in some of the pics. It was a fun morning!

This is the best shot we got with all the kids. Owen kept trying to crawl away.

These are my sisters new twins. They are so stinking cute!! I love this picture.

This a collage that my friend put together for me to give to Alex. He loves it!

My Boy is 1

Owen had his first b-day a few weeks ago. We had a family party here at the new house and BBQ'd and had cupcakes. One of the best parts was the new fire pit in this house. We had smores and sat around the fire and talked till everyone had to leave. It was really fun!! Owen loved his presents and the marshmallows!! Happy Birthday little one!!
He really wanted that cupcake!!

Shelves

One of the things that we really needed in this house was storage in the garage. I was so tired of having boxes in the garage stacked up everywhere. I found this video tutorial online a while ago so when we moved here I bugged Alex enough that he decided we should try it. Neither one of us has ever built anything like this so we were a little nervous, but they turned out great and now I feel like we can organize our garage finally!!

Here is a before shot of the space. There is a step up at the end of the garage, and this is where we decided to put the shelf. The girls loved the laser level a little too much when we were using it!!Here is a great action shot of my husband.

And here is the final product. Total I figure that it cost us about $65 for these shelves and the only tools we used were the level/stud finder and the drill. They are made out of 2X4s and OSB panels. The guys at Lowes were so nice and they will cut the wood for you for free. I love these shelves and can't wait to put all of our junk onto them!!

Help

I am dying to repaint and decorate my living room/dining room/kitchen area. The previous owners had painted it a dark brown on all the walls. As my Father-in-law so well put it the other day "it is the exact color of poop". The room, especially the kitchen doesn't get a lot of light so I wanted a color that was bright and colorful. I have also been looking for fabric to make curtains to match since I don't have any blinds. I found these fabrics online and fell in love with them. I just don't know if they are too "funky" for our personalities or if other people would think they were strange.
I am thinking of painting most of the walls a light tan color and then maybe the walls behind the cabinets in the kitchen a blue or orange to match the fabric. I would love to hear you opinions. Here are some pics of the kitchen (they are really bad-my camera is a little broken) to help you visualize the space. Seriously, any opinions are needed!!

Feeling Blue Lately!!

We were able to go in on Monday to have an early ultrasound. I was only 13 weeks along, but the tech thinks that the baby will be a boy! We are so excited to have a new little baby boy in the house. It will be a long 6 months waiting for him to come. Now we just need to start thinking about names!!

Craft Time

I have always thought of myself as being a crafty girl. I also enjoyed painting and quilting and sewing, but I have come to find out lately, that I am just a really good copycat. I rarely have any good ideas of my own, but I am really good at copying other people great ideas. Here are some ideas that I have copied lately.

This is an idea that I stole from this blog that I love!!! I was forced to change it a little bit because I bought the wrong size board from the store. I really like how they turned out.

These hearts I copied from this blog. We did these at our 2nd annual Superbowl Sunday craft day. While the boys watch the game downstairs, the girls stay upstairs and do a fun craft. We had so much fun, we are even thinking about doing a craft once a month and have a girls night out. These were so fun and easy and inexpensive to do. Even my girls and my nieces helped. I just cut the stencils out of contact paper with my cricut machine. It was a little more work that vinyl would have been, but much cheaper!!

So, if anyone has any really cute, original ideas, send them my way and I will be sure to copy them!!
